Kozhikode Bus Accident Claims One Life, Injures 54 Passengers

Kozhikode witnessed a tragic bus accident on Tuesday evening, February 4, 2025, when a private bus rammed into a motorcycle at Arayidathupalam, leading to the death of the rider and injuries to 54 passengers.

The victim, identified as Muhammed Sanih (27) from Kommeri, succumbed to his injuries at Baby Memorial Hospital on Wednesday morning.

The Kozhikode bus accident occurred around 4:10 p.m. when the bus, traveling towards Mavoor, attempted to avoid a collision with Sanih’s motorcycle. In the process, the driver lost control, causing the bus to crash into a divider near the E.K. Nayanar Flyover and overturn.

The incident has raised concerns over traffic safety and speeding violations in Kozhikode. Authorities suspect that the bus driver was exceeding speed limits, contributing to the severity of the accident.
