Uttar Pradesh Bus Fare Hike: Find New UPSRTC Bus fare List

The Uttar Pradesh bus fare hike didn’t fare well with passengers. The fare hike especially came as a disappointment since it follows closely on the heels of the Lok Sabha elections.

Just a day before the election results, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a hike in bus fares for Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) buses, much to passengers chagrin.

The new UPSRTC bus fares will be effective from midnight of June 3. According to Ajit Pratap Singh, the official spokesperson of UPSRTC, the increase in fares could be attributed to the recent hike in NHAI toll taxes.

Notably, all UPSRTC bus tickets include a Toll Surcharge. With the hike in Toll Taxes, UPSRTC bus ticket prices have been increased by Re 1 to Rs 3 as well.

However, the Uttar Pradesh bus fare hike didn’t fare well with passengers. The fare hike especially came as a disappointment since it follows closely on the heels of the Lok Sabha elections.

Allegedly, the price of UPSRTC bus tickets was already quite high as compared to other Indian states. As the prices are further increased, it is going to make public transport less affordable for daily commuters.

“The election results have not even been announced, and the government has decided to increase bus fares. The common people are already reeling under inflation and this fare hike will put an extra burden on passengers like us,” says Raghavendra Yadav, a daily passenger.
