Bus Accident News: In the early hours of the morning, a UPSRTC Janrath bus collided head-on with a private bus in Milak, Rampur. Tragically, three individuals lost their lives, and approximately 49 others sustained serious injuries in the Rampur bus accident today.

A private bus collided head-on with a UP Roadways bus early Tuesday morning, in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to more than 49 passengers.

The accident took place near on the Delhi-Bareilly national highway, along the Kanwar Yatra route.

The private bus traveling from Haridwar to Shravasti district and a UPSRTC bus was traveling from Bareilly to Delhi.

Details of the Accident

The Rampur bus accident today occurred around 4:30 AM on the National Highway 24 in Milak, Rampur. The private bus, carrying over 60 passengers, was returning from Haridwar Shantikunj, where the devotees had gone to celebrate Guru Purnima and take a holy dip in the Ganges.

As the bus made its way back to Shravasti, it collided with a UP Roadways bus traveling from Lucknow to Delhi. The UP Roadways bus had mostly passengers from Sitapur heading to Delhi.

Cause of the Rampur Bus Accident Today

Confirming the cause of the accident, the District Magistrate of Rampur, Shri Jogindra Singh (IAS) told the media that the private bus was traveling on the wrong side of the road due to a route diversion.

This diversion led to the fatal collision in front of the Reliance petrol pump on the Milak Highway.

Casualties of the Accident

The Rampur bus accident today resulted in three fatalities and over 49 passengers sustained injuries. Among the dead was a bus driver.

All the injured were taken to the Community Health Center in Milak, with nine individuals being transferred to the district hospital for further treatment.

Local residents and first responders played a crucial role in rescuing those trapped in the wreckage and transporting the injured to Milak CHC for initial medical attention.

It is believed that the deceased driver was from the UP Roadways bus, though the identities of the deceased are still unknown.
