Khattar to add 375 electric buses in Haryana
CM Khattar has announced the addition of 375 electric buses in Haryana which will operate across nine major cities of the state.
Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal Khattar, is all set to inaugurate the City Bus Service featuring electric buses in Haryana from Siwah, Panipat on January 29, 2024.
This landmark initiative not only promises enhanced transportation for residents in nine cities but also underscores the state’s commitment to environmental sustainability through zero-pollution modes of transit.
Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, highlighted that the Haryana City Bus Service Limited, a Government Corporation formed under the Transport Department, is dedicated to providing local city bus services in nine cities across Haryana, including
- Panipat
- Yamunanagar
- Panchkula
- Ambala
- Karnal
- Sonepat
- Rewari
- Rohtak
- Hisar
This represents a unique and pioneering project in the country, notably contributing to the integration of electric buses in Haryana’s public transport network.
Sh. Mool Chand Sharma further stated that separate City Bus Service Depots are under construction in all nine cities, with an estimated cost of Rs 115 crore.
To facilitate bus operations, 375 buses have already been ordered. In the first phase, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the city bus service at the new bus stand in Siwah, Panipat, marking a significant milestone in Haryana’s commitment to green and modern public transportation, particularly the integration of electric buses in Haryana’s urban mobility landscape.
