SWITCH Mobility Completes 100 Electric Bus Delivery to Mauritius, Marks India’s Largest EV Bus Export

SWITCH Mobility has completed the delivery of 100 electric buses to Mauritius, marking the largest export of electric buses from India to date and a key milestone in the country’s growing EV manufacturing footprint.
The final batch of 90 buses was handed over by India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to Mauritius Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, in the presence of officials from both countries.
The delivery is part of a government-to-government initiative under which the Government of India is donating 100 electric buses to Mauritius to support public transport electrification.

Phased Delivery Under Government Initiative
The total order comprised 100 electric buses, with the first batch of 10 units delivered in August 2025. The remaining 90 buses have now been handed over, completing the order.
The buses were supplied through an open tender conducted by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) in India and will be operated by the National Transport Corporation (NTC), Mauritius’ state-owned public transport operator.
This delivery forms part of a broader collaboration between India and Mauritius aimed at strengthening sustainable public transport systems.
EiV12 Electric Buses for Public Transport Operations
The buses supplied are based on SWITCH Mobility’s EiV12 platform, designed for urban and intercity operations.
Key features include:
- Seating capacity of up to 45 passengers
- SWITCH iON telematics platform for fleet monitoring
- Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries mounted on the floor
- Rear dual-gun charging interface for depot charging
These features enable efficient fleet management, improved vehicle performance monitoring, and operational reliability for public transport systems.
