New BMTC Express Bus: Routes, Fare, Monthly Pass Details

BMTC Express bus services have been extended to five new routes in Bengaluru, enhancing city connectivity. A new ₹1,500 monthly pass has also been introduced.

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is expanding its fleet of express buses across the city. After seeing huge success on the NICE Road corridor, BMTC has decided to go all-in and add five brand-new BMTC Express bus routes to its network.

Named Vegadoota, the new BMTC Express bus routes will connect key transit hubs to city outskirts and industrial areas. BMTC has also introduced a new bus pass at a monthly price of ₹1,500.

BMTC will operate a total of 48 buses and 348 trips on a daily basis, with buses running every 20-30 minutes. The express buses will operate on these major corridors:

These aren’t just random additions. The new BMTC Express bus routes connect key transit hubs to city outskirts and industrial areas, facilitating less stressful and faster commutes for workers, students, and regular commuters alike.

Flagging off the service, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy said this was just the beginning. “People in Bengaluru deserve better, faster, and safer public transport. These new services are a step in that direction,” he added.

BMTC Express Bus Monthly Pass

The corporation has also introduced a new bus monthly pass, priced at ₹1,500. This pass is available through the Tummoc application. It gives you unlimited access to all buses, including the NICE Road services. Commuters can also use the new BMTC bus pass on the express Vajra buses by just paying the toll difference.
