TNSTC Madurai Division Wins Four National Public Bus Transport Awards

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) Madurai division has won four prestigious awards at the National Public Bus Transport Excellence Awards 2023-24, organized by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU) under the Ministry of Road Transport and National Highways.
The division bagged the ‘Tyre Performance Award’ in the rural category and was named runner-up in three other categories for efficiency in tyre performance, fuel consumption, and vehicle usage.

Recognition at National Level
The awards were presented at an event in New Delhi, where R. Singaravelu, Managing Director of TNSTC (Madurai), received the honors from Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
In the 2023-24 awards, a total of 19 National Public Transport Efficiency and Fuel Efficiency Awards were given to various state transport corporations. Tamil Nadu’s transport corporations won 25% of the total awards, showcasing their commitment to efficiency and sustainability.

State-Level Appreciation
Following the achievement, Tamil Nadu Transport Minister SS Sivashankar and Additional Chief Secretary K. Panindra Reddy congratulated the Madurai division for its excellence in public transport efficiency.
This recognition highlights TNSTC’s dedication to improving fuel efficiency, vehicle maintenance, and sustainable transport operations in the state.
