ZingBus Targets 1,000 Electric Buses, Accelerates EV Transition With Operator-Led Model
ZingBus is accelerating India’s intercity EV transition with an operator-led model and a roadmap to deploy over 1,000 electric buses supported by its proprietary EV-ready technology stack.

ZingBus, a leading intercity smart mobility platform, is strengthening its push toward clean transportation through a unique operator-led model for electric mobility.
Instead of owning and operating its own fleet, the company partners with bus operators to deploy electric buses, providing them with technology, revenue management tools, and operational support tailored specifically for EV fleets.
Moving away from the traditional company-owned, company-operated structure, ZingBus enables operators to run electric buses while leveraging the platform’s proprietary EV-ready tech stack. More than 250 operators are already integrated, reflecting strong ecosystem adoption.

According to the company, this partnership-driven approach helps operators overcome the financial and operational barriers typically associated with transitioning to electric vehicles.
ZingBus’ technology platform is designed to streamline EV operations, reducing the need for heavy upfront investment and making the shift to sustainable mobility more accessible.
Zingbus launched its first electric buses in August 2025. Called Zingbus Plus Electric, they were launched on the Delhi–Dehradun route.
Early performance insights indicate that ZingBus electric buses are delivering higher occupancy rates and stronger Net Promoter Scores compared to diesel buses running on the same routes. The company attributes this trend to rising passenger preference for cleaner, quieter, and more comfortable electric travel.

“Our operator partners are excited to go electric, and by empowering them with an EV-ready operating system, we are not just adding electric buses but unlocking an entirely new growth curve for intercity mobility,”
Prashant Kumar, Co-founder, ZingBus.
The company estimates that this scale-up could neutralize around 36,000 tons of carbon emissions annually, significantly contributing to India’s sustainable mobility targets.
Operating on an asset-light model, ZingBus continues to scale rapidly across India’s intercity bus network. The platform has facilitated over 6 million journeys and has a presence in more than 200 cities across 20 states, working with roughly 300 buses through its partner ecosystem.
