While the corporation has recently focused on expanding its electric bus fleet, the new BMTC buses are diesel-powered BS-6 models. These new buses, however, are much cleaner than the older BS-4 ones, cutting nitrogen oxide emissions by 90%, hydrocarbons by 70%, and particulate matter by 50%.
