Eicher Partners With Cityflo to Deploy 2,000 Premium Buses Across India

Eicher Trucks and Buses has partnered with Cityflo to deploy 2,000 premium intra-city buses across India over the next three years. The partnership aims to expand organized urban commuting solutions in major metropolitan markets.
Around 500 buses are expected to be inducted during FY27 under the agreement, which will include diesel, CNG, and electric bus platforms tailored for premium daily commute operations. The planned fleet procurement includes the Eicher Skyline Pro 3011 AC buses with pushback seats and rear air suspension.
Demand for premium app-based bus commute services is rising in Indian cities as traffic congestion and fuel costs push more commuters towards organized shared mobility.

According to the companies, the collaboration will focus on improving operational reliability, fleet uptime, and passenger comfort while reducing the total cost of ownership for operators.
The buses are expected to feature configurations optimized for high-frequency city operations, including enhanced air-conditioning performance, lower noise and vibration levels, improved ride quality and premium seating layouts.
The agreement also includes service integration measures such as on-site support, maintenance planning aligned with peak-hour schedules, and access to Eicher’s service and parts network.

Cityflo said its earlier collaboration with Eicher in 2024 led to the development of a 27-seater bus platform designed specifically for urban commuting applications.
B Srinivas, Managing Director and CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles, said the partnership reflects a shared focus on delivering reliable and comfortable public mobility solutions at scale while supporting efforts to reduce congestion in Indian cities.
Rishabh Shah, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer at Cityflo, said the companies would continue working together on future vehicle configurations as the mobility platform expands operations across additional urban markets.
Growing Demand for Organized Bus Mobility
The partnership also highlights the increasing role of OEM-operator collaborations in India’s premium bus mobility segment, where fleet operators are seeking customized products with higher uptime, lower lifecycle costs and better commuter experience.
Industry observers note that organized intra-city bus services are increasingly positioning themselves as an alternative to private car usage and fragmented public transport systems, particularly for office commuters in densely populated urban corridors.
