Veera Mahasamrat EV 13.5M Specs: World’s Fastest Charging E-Bus
The Veera Mahasamrat EV 13.5M electric bus displayed at Prawaas 4.0, garnered significant acclaim as the world’s first 13.5-meter electric bus and the fastest-charging electric bus globally. This groundbreaking vehicle addresses range anxiety, making long-haul intercity routes more practical and efficient.
Indian bus body builder Veera Vahana Udyog made waves at Prawaas 4.0 with the introduction of the Veera Mahasamrat EV 13.5M.
As the world’s first 13.5-meter electric bus and the fastest-charging electric bus globally, the Veera Mahasamrat EV is a groundbreaking electric bus that has set new benchmarks in the electric vehicle industry.
A key feature of the Mahasamrat EV is its incredibly rapid charging capability – this electric bus can achieve a full charge in just 15 minutes.
This development addresses one of the biggest hurdles in the adoption of electric buses—range anxiety—by making long-haul intercity routes more feasible and efficient.
The advanced charging technology behind this innovation is a collaborative effort with Exponent Energy. The Veera Mahasamrat EV will utilize Exponent’s cutting-edge 1 MW charging infrastructure, which is yet to be installed but promises to transform the charging experience.
This system is equipped with a sophisticated battery management system (BMS), advanced charging algorithms, and a proprietary off-board thermal management system.
The latter is particularly notable for its ability to keep the battery cool during charging, even in extreme temperatures of up to 50°C.
The initial deployment of the Veera Mahasamrat EV will center on the high-traffic Bengaluru-Hyderabad route. To support this rollout, Exponent Energy plans to establish four 1 MW charging stations along this corridor—two at each end of the route and two along the way.
This infrastructure is designed to ensure uninterrupted operation and minimize downtime, facilitating a smoother transition from traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) buses to electric vehicles.
Veera Vahana Udyog has also introduced an impressive warranty for the Mahasamrat EV, covering either 600,000 kilometers or 3,000 life cycles, whichever comes first.
This robust warranty underscores the company’s confidence in the bus’s longevity and reliability. Additionally, the Mahasamrat EV is expected to reduce fleet operating costs by up to 30% compared to conventional ICE buses, making it a compelling choice for fleet operators looking to cut expenses and embrace sustainable technology.
