TNSTC Mahalaya Ammavasai Special Buses: Book Online in Advance
In preparation for the upcoming festivities and weekend, TNSTC has deployed TNSTC Mahalaya Ammavasai special buses. Check routes and online booking options of all divisions.
The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has taken comprehensive measures to ensure seamless transportation for devotees embarking on pilgrimages during Mahalaya Ammavasai and the final Saturday of the Tamil month of Purratasi, falling on October 13 and 14.
Each year the Mahalaya Amavasi draws a huge crowd of people from Tamil Nadu and its neighboring city, Bangalore, to the pilgrimage shrine of Rameswaram.
In preparation for the notable surge of devotees on October 14th, marking the Mahalaya Amavasi, extra special bus services have been arranged.
These services will link major cities, including Chennai, Salem, Coimbatore, and Bengaluru, to Rameswaram on the evening of Friday, October 13.
The return trip from Rameswaram to these cities is slated for the night of Saturday, October 14.
TNSTC Mahalaya Ammavasai Special Buses Routes by Division
Madurai Division – 75 Special Buses
A. Arumugam, Managing Director of the Madurai division, announced the deployment of 75 TNSTC Mahalaya Ammavasai special buses connecting prominent pilgrim destinations.
These buses will facilitate travel to Rameswaram, Pollachi, Srivilliputtur, Tirunelveli, and Kuchanoor. Furthermore, special services have been organized from Erode, Coimbatore, and Tirupur to Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, and various other locations.
Kumbakonam Division – 270 Buses
R. Mohan, Managing Director of TNSTC’s Kumbakonam division, announced an extensive network of 150 TNSTC Mahalaya Ammavasai special bus services connecting Tiruchi, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Pattukottai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, and Vedaranyam to Rameswaram and other significant locations.
Moreover, TNSTC is set to operate about 45 buses from Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthrai, Sirkazhi, Poraiyar, Nagapattinam, Pattukottai, and Vedaranyam to Poompuhar and Kodiyakkarai seashores.
For devotees seeking to visit the Srirangam and Samayapuram temples, fifty specialized buses will facilitate transportation from the Central bus terminus and Chathiram bus stand in Trichy city.
Additionally, officials have stated that the deployment of TNSTC Mahalaya Ammavasai special buses will be adjusted based on demand to ensure optimal service.
Salem Division – 150 Special Buses
To ensure hassle-free travel during the upcoming weekend and in light of the Mahalaya Ammavasai an extra 150 special buses have been scheduled to operate on various routes from Friday, the 13th, through to the 16th.
The special buses will ply on routes connecting key cities such as Salem to Chennai, Madurai, and Bengaluru.
Additionally, routes from Hosur to Chennai, Trichy, and Madurai, as well as Namakkal to Chennai, will be covered. Other routes include Trichy to Hosur, Chennai to Salem, Namakkal, Hosur, Dharmapuri, and Mettur.
For added convenience, pre-booked buses will be available for travelers.
These include routes from Bengaluru to Salem and Thiruvannamalai, Thiruvannamalai to Bengaluru, Hosur to Salem, Puducherry, and Cuddalore. Additionally, buses will operate from Salem to Chidambaram, Kanchipuram, and Erode to Bengaluru.
In commemoration of Amavasai, TNSTC Mahalaya Ammavasai special buses will also be arranged from Salem New Bus Station, Mettur, and Dharmapuri Bus Station to Matheswaran Hill.
Furthermore, special services from Salem City Bus Station to Siddharkovil will be provided, allowing devotees to embark on their spiritual journeys with ease and comfort.
