KMRL Metro Connect Electric Buses to Start Soon: Route, Timing
Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) will begin regular operations of its fully air-conditioned electric feeder buses next week. The buses will operate on multiple routes with affordable fares, offering enhanced connectivity to metro stations and key areas in Kochi.
The highly anticipated KMRL Metro Connect electric buses will begin their regular operations next week after a successful month-long trial run.
These fully air-conditioned electric feeder buses are designed to enhance connectivity to Kochi Metro, improving the first and last-mile travel experience for passengers.
According to KMRL Managing Director Loknath Behra, the buses are equipped with comfortable seating and modern facilities to provide a travel experience similar to the metro trains themselves.
A total of 15 electric feeder buses will be deployed initially. Although the services are set to officially launch on January 15, KMRL authorities plan to evaluate passenger patronage for a few months.
The buses will run for the next three months before launching a tender to manage operations through an external agency.

Affordable Bus Fares
- Aluva-Airport Route: The fare for a one-way trip will be Rs 80 for nearly 12 km.
- Other Routes: For shorter distances, fares will be Rs 20 for trips of around 5 km.
