A man named Sivakumar was fatally crushed between two private buses. According to police reports, the accident happened around 11:30 AM Sivakumar and his mother, Saroja, had come to the bus stand after visiting relatives.
As Sivakumar walked between two stationary buses, the driver of the front bus, without a conductor present, reversed the vehicle. This caused Sivakumar to become trapped between the rear end of one bus and the front of the other, leading to his immediate death.
Further investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

A woman passenger was killed when a TNSTC bus traveling from Coimbatore to Kovilpatti overturned after hitting a parapet wall on the Virudhunagar-Sattur highway early Monday morning (June 10, 2024) at around 5:30 a.m.
Police reported that 40 passengers and the bus crew were injured and rushed to the Government Virudhunagar Medical College Hospital. Ms. Bhuvaneswari later succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities suspect that the bus driver, Murugabhoopathi, fell asleep at the wheel, causing him to lose control of the speeding bus, which then struck a parapet wall near the Vachchakarapatti bus stop. The impact caused extensive damage to the bus, including a damaged axle and all four wheels detaching from the body.
