To book DTC Bus tickets through WhatsApp, commuters simply need to send a message saying ‘Hi’ to +918744073223 or scan the QR code available inside buses.

The chatbot, available in both English and Hindi, will then guide passengers seamlessly throughout the process.

How to Book DTC Bus Tickets Through WhatsApp

Here’s a step-by-step guide to booking DTC bus ticket through WhatsApp:

  1. Send ‘Hi’ to 8744073223 or scan a QR code.
  2. Choose your preferred language: English or Hindi.
  3. Select “Book Ticket” from the options provided.
  4. Specify your source and destination.
  5. The platform will suggest buses/routes along with the number of stops before your destination.
  6. Choose the desired bus route and select AC or non-AC.
  7. Add the number of tickets needed.
  8. Complete the payment process via UPI or cards.
  9. Once booked, download your ticket by scrolling up in the chat and clicking on ‘Download Ticket’.

At present, the chatbot facilitates the booking of single-journey QR tickets for commuters traveling on DTC and DIMTS routes.

Additionally, for riders who frequently commute along the same route, the chatbot provides a quick purchase feature. This feature aims to minimize the time spent selecting the destination and starting point within the chatbot interface, enhancing user convenience.

Commuters also have the option to book tickets through the “One Delhi” mobile application by scanning QR codes inside buses.

To get a first-hand feel of the experience, I attempted to book a DTC bus ticket through WhatsApp.

Although the chatbot functions smoothly, it exhibits a slight sluggishness in operation.

We anticipate that with time, enhancements will be made to augment the chatbot’s speed, thereby optimizing user experience.
