MSRTC to Set Up Two New Charging Stations at Swargate and Dapodi
As part of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation’s (MSRTC) plan to expand its fleet of electric buses (e-buses), the MSRTC Pune division will set up two new charging stations at Swargate and Dapodi.
Key Details:
- Charging Points: Each station will have 18 charging points to support the increasing fleet of e-buses on various city routes.
- E-Bus Fleet Expansion: MSRTC plans to introduce 5,000 e-buses in phases, with 200 e-buses allocated to the Pune division.
- Current E-Bus Fleet in Pune: The Pune division currently operates 66 e-buses, charged at the head office on Shankar Sheth Road.
Locations:
- Swargate ST Stand:
- 18 charging points.
- E-buses will be deployed on the Kolhapur and Satara routes.
- Dapodi MSRTC Workshop:
- 18 charging points.
- E-buses will be sent to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
Additional Information:
- The first E-Shivai service began in August 2023 on the Pune-Nagar route.
- E-Shivais now operate on multiple routes including Pune to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Ahmednagar, Nashik, Kolhapur, and Solapur.
These new stations will help ensure smooth operations as MSRTC scales up its e-bus services under the ‘E-Shivai’ initiative.
