In the wake of consistent demand from East Bangalore citizens, the BMTC Vayu Vajra KIA-8D route has been launched from Sarjapur Road to the Airport.
Since their introduction, the Vayu Vajra buses have successfully addressed the woes of commuters traveling to and from the Airport.
The Vayu Vajra buses have garnered immense popularity thanks to their dedicated and efficient services connecting the airport with various parts of the city.
As a result, citizens’ demand for the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) to expand the bus service to cover more areas across the city has increased.
In response to persistent demands from citizens in East Bangalore, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced a new Vayu Vajra KIA-8D connecting Sarjapur Road to the Airport.
In addition, the BMTC has also launched another Vayu Vajra Route – 500 HS connecting Sarjapur Road and Hebbal.

Vayu Vajra KIA-8D Route
The BMTC Vayu Vajra KIA-8D route will operate between Wipro Campus, Sarjapur Road and Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) via the following stoppages:
- Domasandra
- Kodathi Gate
- Doddakanelli
- Kadubeesanahalli
- Marathalli Bridge
- Hebbala
- Hunasamaranahalli

The Vayu Vajra KIA-8D route will have four buses operating 14 trips throughout the day from Sarjapur Road to the Airport, 7 services from each side.
The earliest bus from Sarjapur Road departs at 7 AM and the last bus departs at 11:05 PM.
From the Airport to Sarjapur Road, the first Vayu Vajra KIA-8D bus departs at 4 AM and the last bus at 8:15 PM.

Earlier in December 2023, the BMTC launched the Attibele Hoskote Vajra Buses. As of date, the BMTC runs 144 buses on 18 Vayu Vajra (airport) routes that make 988 round trips per day.
