Olectra Greentech Partners with Dassault Systèmes to Accelerate Digital EV Development in India

Olectra Greentech has partnered with Dassault Systèmes to adopt the advanced 3DEXPERIENCE platform, marking a strategic move towards globally benchmarked EV product development.
The partnership is expected to strengthen Olectra’s capabilities in electric bus and truck development through a fully integrated digital engineering ecosystem. The development comes at a time when Indian EV manufacturers are rapidly investing in scalable and technology-driven manufacturing processes to compete with global OEMs.
Under the collaboration, Olectra will implement Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform to create a model-based and platform-led product development environment. The platform connects design, engineering, simulation and manufacturing teams through a unified digital framework, enabling real-time collaboration across the complete vehicle lifecycle.
Earlier in March 2026, JSW Motors also partnered with Dassault Systèmes to adopt the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for its EV development initiatives

For India’s growing electric bus industry, this transition represents a major shift from conventional engineering methods to digitally orchestrated development processes. The approach is expected to help manufacturers reduce product development timelines, improve vehicle validation processes and accelerate innovation cycles.
Olectra said the digital transformation initiative will support seamless coordination between engineering teams, manufacturing facilities and ecosystem partners. The platform will also enable virtual simulation and validation before physical prototyping, helping reduce costs and improve development efficiency.
Mahesh Babu, Managing Director of Olectra Greentech, said the company sees electrification and digital engineering as the foundation of future mobility.
“At Olectra, we see the future of mobility being shaped by electrification and digital engineering. As part of our commitment to transforming mobility through accessible innovation and a pragmatic future, we are making significant investments in developing new bus and truck platforms,” he said.
He added that the adoption of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform would help the company align its products with global engineering benchmarks while improving development speed and precision.
Dassault Systèmes believes the collaboration reflects the growing role of virtual engineering in next-generation mobility development.

Deepak NG, Managing Director, India, Dassault Systèmes, said the future of mobility would increasingly be engineered in virtual environments before vehicles reach roads.
The collaboration also highlights a wider trend emerging across the global automotive industry, where manufacturers are shifting towards software-driven and platform-based engineering environments to support next-generation electric vehicle architectures.
For the Indian electric bus market, the move could become a significant benchmark. As competition intensifies and fleet operators demand higher reliability, faster product upgrades and scalable EV platforms, digital engineering capabilities are becoming increasingly critical.
Olectra has already established itself as one of India’s leading electric bus manufacturers. With this partnership, the company is now aiming to strengthen not only its deployment scale but also its engineering and product development ecosystem.
The partnership between Olectra and Dassault Systèmes signals how India’s EV industry is steadily moving towards globally aligned digital manufacturing and engineering standards, setting the stage for the next wave of electric commercial vehicle innovation.
