Tata Motors, on April 15, 2026, rolled out its 10 lakhth commercial vehicle from its manufacturing facility in Lucknow, marking a major milestone in its over three-decade presence in Uttar Pradesh.

The milestone vehicle, a zero-emission electric bus, underscores the company’s push towards cleaner mobility as India’s commercial vehicle industry transitions to more sustainable solutions.

The vehicle was flagged off by Yogi Adityanath and N. Chandrasekaran, along with senior government officials and company executives.

Tata Motors’ Lucknow facility, established in 1992, has grown into one of the company’s key manufacturing hubs, producing a wide range of trucks and buses across conventional and electric powertrains.

Spread across around 600 acres, the plant supports more than 8,000 livelihoods and operates using 100% renewable energy, according to the company.

The milestone comes at a time when India’s commercial vehicle sector is witnessing increased demand and a gradual shift towards electric mobility, driven by policy support and rising sustainability goals.

Speaking at the event, Yogi Adityanath said the achievement reflects Uttar Pradesh’s growing industrial capabilities and its ambition to become a one-trillion-dollar economy, supported by manufacturing and infrastructure development.

N. Chandrasekaran highlighted the long-standing partnership between Tata Motors and the state, noting that the collaboration has contributed to job creation, skill development and industrial growth over the years.
