2 TTDC Volvo 9600 Buses Flagged off by MK Stalin
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated two TTDC Volvo 9600 buses on Wednesday. Bought at a cost of 2.92 crores, these buses will be used for Tirupati and other destination tours.
November 29, Tamil Nadu: DMK Chief and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin launched two TTDC Volvo 9600 buses that will be exclusively used for Tirupati and other tourist destination tours.
The cost of the Volvo 9600 bus is pegged at Rs 1.48 crores.
On the inaugural run, over 60 students with disabilities from special schools under the Department of Welfare of Differently Abled Persons in Chennai, Chengalpet, and Tiruvallur districts were taken on a tour to Mamallapuram aboard the newly launched buses.
These students hail from specialized institutions such as the Government Blind Higher Secondary School in Poonamallee, the Government School for the Hearing Impaired in Tambaram Sanatorium, and the Government Institute for Intellectual Disability in Tambaram Sanatorium.

TTDC Bus Fleet as of 2023
Currently, the TTDC manages a fleet of 18 buses, comprising mini buses, to facilitate its diverse range of tours.
These tours encompass various destinations such as Ooty, Kodaikanal, Mysuru, Bengaluru, the Navagraha temples, Mamallapuram, Kancheepuram, Tiruvannamalai, Puducherry, along with comprehensive options like an eight-day TN tour and a 14-day South India tour.
TTDC’s extensive tour offerings cater to a broad spectrum of interests, ensuring that travelers can explore the rich tapestry of Tamil Nadu and its neighboring regions.
Apart from the new Volvo 9600 buses, the TTDC also has two more Volvo B8R buses.
