In order to manage heavy passenger traffic during the Gowri and Ganesha festivals on August 26 and 27, 2025, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate 1,500 additional buses across the state. These special services are aimed at ensuring seamless travel during one of the busiest festive weekends.

Special Bus Operations from Bengaluru

  • From Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic):
    Services will connect Bengaluru to Dharmasthala, Kukke Subramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad.
  • From Mysuru Road Bus Station:
    Dedicated services to Mysuru, Hunsur, Periyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalnagar, and Madikeri.
  • From Shantinagar BMTC Bus Station (TTMC):
    Premium services will run to major cities in Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Kumbakonam, Tiruchi) and Kerala (Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kozhikode).

Dates of Operation

  • Outbound services: August 25–26, 2025
  • Return services: August 27 and August 31, 2025

Bookings and Discounts

  • Passengers can pre-book tickets through the official KSRTC website (www.ksrtc.in) or the KSRTC mobile app.
  • Advance reservations can also be made at booking counters within Karnataka, as well as at ticketing centres in neighbouring states including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry, Maharashtra, and Goa.
  • To promote group and return travel, KSRTC is offering a 5% fare discount for groups of four or more booked under a single ticket
  • KSRTC is also offering a 10% concession for passengers reserving onward and return journey tickets together.
