Vénissieux, April 7th, 2025 – IVECO BUS has secured two significant orders for its hydrogen-powered city buses, further solidifying its position in the green mobility sector.

The Urban Community of Dunkirk and Grand Annecy Agglomeration have placed orders for a total of 13 hydrogen buses, marking a crucial step in their ongoing efforts to decarbonize public transport and reduce carbon emissions.

Through France’s leading public procurement center, UGAP, Dunkirk has ordered 10 hydrogen buses, while Grand Annecy will receive 3 units.

These new additions will supplement the existing electric bus fleets already in service in both regions, with deliveries scheduled to be staggered until 2026.

Hydrogen Technology for Sustainable Mobility

The buses, which will be part of urban transport systems in Dunkirk and Grand Annecy, will be equipped with a 100 kW Hyundai fuel cell and a 69 kWh FPT Industrial battery pack.

This cutting-edge technology not only improves efficiency but also reduces hydrogen consumption by 15 to 20% compared to typical hydrogen buses. Additionally, the buses are designed to optimize thermal comfort, enhancing the passenger experience while ensuring a longer lifespan for critical components, such as the battery and fuel cell.
