IVECO BUS has delivered its first natural gas chassis in Argentina, marking a major milestone in sustainable mobility. The company supplied 20 units of the IVECO BUS 17-210 G chassis to Metropol, one of the country’s largest public transport operators.

These buses will serve lines 504 and 507 in Escobar, making it the first municipality in Argentina to operate a bus line entirely powered by natural gas.

  • Built at the IVECO BUS plant in Córdoba, Argentina
  • Equipped with a GNC FPT N60 engine
  • Nine 80-liter tanks, providing up to 350 km range
  • Designed for urban and interurban operations
  • Bodies manufactured by Italbus, a local partner specializing in bus body solutions

Metropol: Argentina’s Leading Operator

Metropol, which operates 27 lines in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, runs over 120 million kilometers annually and serves 230 million passengers. By adopting natural gas buses, it becomes the only operator in Argentina with a fully gas-powered bus line, reinforcing its role as a pioneer in green mobility.
