The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has unveiled plans to introduce double-decker buses in Visakhapatnam soon. Three Switch EiV22 buses will operate on key city routes, offering a fresh and exciting experience for both residents and tourists.

GVMC officials are currently finalizing preparations for the launch of these double-decker buses. One of the buses is being funded through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, while the remaining two are being directly purchased by GVMC.

To facilitate procurement, the civic body has already issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) and invited tenders from interested vendors.

The introduction of the double-decker buses in Visakhapatnam is part of a broader plan to connect the city’s most prominent tourist and spiritual destinations, including Simhachalam, Kailasagiri, and Thotlakonda.
