Following the success of its first multi-axle electric bus in India – the Elon 3X, Blackbuck EV has unveiled the design of its upcoming sleeper version – the ELON 3X electric sleeper bus.
This 13.5-meter is poised to be India’s first multi-axle electric sleeper bus in India.
The Blackbuck ELON 3X seater version is currently undergoing road testing to ensure performance and durability. The trials are being conducted near the company’s facility in Hyderabad. Preliminary results are positive, and testing will continue for comprehensive validation.

According to the company, the buses will feature sleeper berths measuring 1.8 meters in length and offer 8 cubic meters of luggage space.

These buses will be available in 300 km and 400 km ranges per charge, catering to specific route requirements.

The first micro-factory is expected to be operational by Q3 2025, with full-scale production by the end of 2025. This production capability aims to meet delivery commitments and the growing demand for electric buses.
Earlier, Blackbuck EV founder Ramakrishnam Raju Chintalapati had highlighted that the company aims to streamline the production of its buses through micro-factories. The company envisions establishing multiple manufacturing facilities throughout India in the coming years, employing a franchise model.
Now the company has also revealed its plans to operate on the EBAAS (Electric Bus as a Service) model.
