MSRTC Issues E-Tender to Procure 3000 Buses for Fleet Expansion
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has initiated the process of acquiring 3,000 new buses to enhance its fleet.
The transport body has recently issued an e-tender for this procurement, with the last date for bid submission set for May 14, 2025. The bids will be opened the following day.

MSRTC aims to purchase ready-built 11-meter buses equipped with diesel engines. The procurement also includes a Comprehensive Annual Maintenance Contract (CAMC), covering the engine and related systems.

MSRTC’s Current Operations
MSRTC currently operates a vast fleet of 14,500 buses across 251 depots and 31 divisions. With this new procurement, the transport body aims to enhance its service network and improve operational efficiency.
The selected bidders will be responsible for the maintenance of the engine and related systems for seven years, while other components will be maintained by MSRTC’s in-house mechanics.
