Ebusco Wins Suburban Bus Contract in Italy
In the latest electric bus news, Ebusco wins suburban bus contract in Italy allowing them to deliver their Ebusco 2.2 electric bus model without any tender.
November 28, 2023: Ebusco has emerged as the OEM of choice of Italy’s central purchasing organization, Consip for the delivery of its electric buses for “suburban buses in Class I” category.
In line with this, Ebusco will deliver its Ebusco 2.2 low-floor electric bus directly to Italian authorities and operators. Significantly, this enables EBusco to deliver its buses without issuing a European tender.
A total of six OEMs have been chosen as suppliers. The suburban lot’s total allocation for the chosen six suppliers amounts to 250 buses over the next 18 months, with a potential 6-month extension.
Bus operators in Italy will now have the option to request the stock Ebusco 2.2 low-floor electric bus, equipped with a battery pack exceeding 400 kWh, via the Consip system.
For those wishing to deviate from the standard configuration, they can issue a mini-tender to selected OEMs to get a custom configuration bus as per their needs and preferences.
As Ebusco wins suburban bus contract in Italy, it paves the way for the company to contribute its sustainable transit solutions to Italy’s transportation landscape.
