Synaty Automotive Lands 100-Bus Order From Okara Express for Major Fleet Expansion

Synaty Automotive has secured its biggest-ever bus order, with Bihar-based Okara Express placing an order for 100 buses as the operator prepares for a major expansion of its fleet and intercity operations.

The order marks an important development for both companies. For Synaty Automotive, the 100-bus order provides a substantial production programme as the Neemrana-based bus body builder continues to expand its presence in the sleeper and premium coach segment. For Okara Express, the order forms part of a larger plan to build a significantly bigger fleet and scale its presence in the intercity bus market.

Final deliveries are targeted for January 2027, according to the latest announcement.

The order comes as Synaty continues to build a reputation around system-driven bus body manufacturing, quality control and compliance. Founded in 2019, the company entered the sleeper bus segment in January 2025 and has since expanded its portfolio to include sleeper coaches, luxury coaches, school buses, Tempo Travellers, and Urbania-based products. Synaty states that its manufacturing capacity is now above 1,000 vehicles annually.

Synaty’s Sleeper Bus Push Gains Scale

The timing of the Okara order is significant for Synaty.

The company has invested heavily in sleeper and premium intercity products, including its LaVie and LaVie+ platforms. In August 2026, Synaty received the first ICAT compliance certificate for a 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus under AIS-119 and AIS-153. The LaVie+ is offered in a 42-berth full-sleeper configuration as well as a hybrid configuration with 21 berths and 42 seats.

The company has also secured AIS-153 certification across other bus categories, strengthening its positioning as a compliance-focused bus body manufacturer.

For a 100-bus programme, that combination of product range, manufacturing capacity and certification capability becomes particularly relevant.

Okara Express Prepares for a Larger Fleet

For Okara Express, the order represents more than a procurement decision.

The Gopalganj, Bihar-based operator is preparing to scale its presence in the intercity bus market. The company’s planned expansion includes a broader fleet programme, with the new buses expected to support its next phase of growth.

That makes the choice of bus body builder particularly important. A large fleet deployment requires consistency across vehicles, predictable delivery schedules, serviceability and the ability to reproduce the same specifications across a sizeable production run.

That distinction matters in India’s bus body manufacturing industry. As operators become larger and fleet procurement becomes more structured, bus body builders are increasingly expected to offer more than fabrication.

Engineering, certification, production planning, consistency and delivery execution are becoming part of the purchasing decision. 

Synaty’s recent certification milestones and expanding product portfolio have been building towards precisely that proposition. The Okara Express order now gives the company another opportunity to demonstrate it at scale. 

For Okara, meanwhile, the 100 buses could mark the beginning of a broader fleet-building exercise as it looks to establish itself more firmly in India’s intercity passenger transport market.

In that sense, this is not simply a 100-bus purchase.

It is a manufacturing scale-up for Synaty and a fleet-building bet for Okara Express – two relatively young businesses taking a much larger position in India’s evolving intercity bus market.
