Olectra to Deliver 1,085 Electric Buses to TGSRTC Under PM E-Drive Programme

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has placed an order for 1,085 electric buses with Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY), a firm under the Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Group.
The contract, valued at approximately ₹1,800 crore, marks one of the largest intra-city electric bus deployments in Telangana.
Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY) will procure the buses from Olectra Greentech, which will also handle maintenance during the 12-year contract period.
With deliveries scheduled in phases over 20 months, the project will require parallel expansion of charging infrastructure and depot preparedness across Telangana to ensure smooth operations.
Olectra Greentech stated that more than 3,600 of its electric vehicles are currently operational across India, with over 10,000 units in the order pipeline, and that its fleet has cumulatively clocked more than 500 million green kilometres.
Order Details and Contract Model
The buses will be supplied under a Gross Cost Contract (GCC) / OPEX model for a period of 12 years. Under this model, the operator is paid on a per-kilometre basis, while TGSRTC retains control over routes and fares.
The order includes:
- 1,025 non-AC 12-metre electric buses
- 60 AC 12-metre electric buses
All buses are meant for intra-city operations, primarily in Hyderabad. Deliveries are scheduled over a period of 20 months.
The company confirmed that the transaction between Olectra and EVEY falls under related party transactions but will be conducted on an arm’s length basis. The promoter group has no stake in TGSRTC.
