Tata Motors Wins UPSRTC Order for 1,297 LPO 1618 Bus Chassis
Tata Motors secures a significant UPSRTC order for 1,297 LPO 1618 bus chassis, further solidifying its position as a leading mobility solutions provider in India’s public transport sector.
Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has successfully secured a UPSRTC order for 1,297 LPO 1618 bus chassis from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC).
This marks the third major order Tata Motors has received from UPSRTC in just one year, bringing the total order size to over 3,500 units.
The recent order for LPO 1618 chassis was awarded through a competitive e-bidding process, and the chassis will be delivered in a phased manner based on mutually agreed terms.
Known for their robust performance, passenger comfort, and low total cost of ownership (TCO), the LPO 1618 chassis is specifically designed for intercity and long-distance travel. These buses will play a key role in modernizing the public transportation fleet in Uttar Pradesh.

This latest order reinforces Tata Motors’ position as a preferred mobility solutions provider for various State Transport Undertakings (STUs) and fleet owners across the country.
With a strong track record, Tata Motors successfully delivered 1,350 units of the LPO 1618 bus chassis in December 2023 to UPSRTC.
In addition, the company also completed the delivery of 1,000 units in October 2024, further reinforcing its leadership in the mass-mobility sector.
