Response from Bus Operators
Operators across the country have welcomed the new GST slabs, expressing optimism that the revised rates and subsequent price cuts will significantly benefit their operations. Many see this as a positive step toward reducing costs and modernising fleets.
However, several operators also voiced the need for manufacturers to pass on the benefits in a more transparent and practical way — beyond just offering it as a discount.
“The Union Government’s move to reduce GST on the automobile industry is truly applaudable. However, manufacturers must extend the benefit in a more realistic manner, instead of simply packaging the GST reduction as discount pricing. We express our sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Modiji for this progressive step,”
Adv. Natraja Sharma, President- Federation of South Transport Associations.
