Tata Motors Delivers Ultra Electric Buses in Srinagar
Tata Motors has delivered the first set of advanced Ultra EV electric buses in Srinagar. TML will supply, maintain, and operate 100 electric buses each in Srinagar and Jammu for 12 years.
Tata Motors, India’s leading commercial vehicle maker, has delivered the first set of 75 Tata Ultra EV electric buses with air conditioning to Srinagar Smart City Limited.
This delivery of Electric Buses in Srinagar marks the beginning of a larger order to supply, maintain, and operate 100 electric buses each in Srinagar and Jammu for 12 years.
The initiative, backed by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, aims to establish an eco-friendly and financially sustainable public transport in Srinagar.
These emission-free buses, designed on cutting-edge technology, come with modern features and high-end battery systems, ensuring a safe and comfortable commute within Srinagar.
The fleet of Tata Electric Buses in Srinagar was inaugurated by notable figures including Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Lieutenant General, J&K, and Shri Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, J&K.

Shri Sinha praised the introduction of electric buses, recognizing their potential to revolutionize public transport in Srinagar, as part of a broader sustainable urban mobility plan. He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his unwavering support to the Union Territory.

Electric Buses in Srinagar Routes
These electric buses are set to operate on 15 intra-city routes and 2 inter-city routes. The Electric Buses are designed to cover a minimum distance of 200 kilometers each day, operating from 8 AM to 8 PM.
This initiative guarantees that the citizens of Srinagar, including daily commuters and working professionals, will have access to a dependable, cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and secure public transportation system that caters to both the city and its adjoining districts.
