At Busworld 2025 in Brussels, Solaris took center stage with the global debut of its latest innovation — the Solaris Urbino 10,5 electric bus. Designed for modern city operations, the compact, fully electric model delivers exceptional efficiency, maneuverability, and passenger comfort, setting a new benchmark in sustainable urban mobility.

Measuring just 10.5 meters in length, the new Urbino accommodates up to 85 passengers, making it the highest-capacity vehicle in its class. A turning radius of under 17 meters ensures agility in narrow city streets, while a modular drivetrain eliminates the traditional engine tower, creating more space for passengers and improved weight balance. The bus offers up to 33 seats in a 2-2-0 configuration, combining comfort with practicality.

Power, Range, and Charging Versatility

The Urbino 10,5 electric bus runs on a 240 kW synchronous motor and features Solaris High Energy batteries with up to 400 kWh capacity, providing a range of over 600 km per eSORT testing. Charging options include both plug-in and pantograph systems, ensuring flexibility for various operational models.

Safety and Smart Features

Solaris has equipped the Urbino with the Mirror Eye camera system, replacing traditional mirrors for enhanced visibility and reduced blind spots. A full suite of ADAS-compliant safety systems — including blind-spot detection, driver drowsiness alerts, and collision warning — ensures optimal safety for both passengers and pedestrians. A CO₂-based heat pump maintains cabin comfort year-round using an eco-friendly refrigerant.

Sustainability and Efficiency

The Solaris Urbino 10,5 electric boasts a 97% recyclability rate, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to sustainability. Built on Solaris’s modular Urbino platform, it shares key components with the Urbino 12 and Urbino 18 hydrogen models — simplifying maintenance and reducing operational costs. Fleet operators can also leverage Solaris’s eSConnect platform for predictive diagnostics and energy optimization.

Alongside the new model, Solaris showcased the award-winning Urbino 12 electric and Urbino 18 hydrogen buses — winners of the Sustainable Bus Award 2025 and Bus of the Year 2025, respectively — reaffirming the company’s dominance in zero-emission mobility across Europe.
