School Girl Chases Bus in Tamil Nadu – Sparks Outrage and Prompt Action by Officials

In a dramatic incident that has since gone viral, a school girl chases bus in Tamil Nadu’s Tirupattur district in a desperate attempt to reach her exam on time.
The Class 12 student was seen sprinting behind a moving government bus after it failed to stop at Kothagoundan village, leaving her and several women stranded.
The incident, which was caught on video and widely circulated on social media, has sparked both outrage and immediate action from authorities.
The girl had been waiting at the Kothagoundan village bus stop for a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus that was scheduled to stop there.
However, the bus drove past without halting, leaving the girl and several women stranded. Undeterred, the student sprinted behind the moving vehicle, determined not to miss her exam. The driver eventually stopped the bus, allowing her to board.

The video of the school girl chasing a bus in Tamil Nadu quickly went viral, evoking widespread reactions from the public.

TNSTC’s Official Statement and Authorities Step In
Responding to the uproar, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) issued an official statement confirming the details.
The bus, bearing registration number TN32N2389, was operated by the Ambur depot under the Vellore region. It was headed towards Alangayam from the Vaniyambadi bus station when the student was left behind.
The driver, Mr. Muniraj (Employee No. 42069), has been temporarily suspended, and departmental disciplinary action is underway. TNSTC clarified this in their statement and assured that the matter was being taken seriously.

Reacting to the incident, Tamil Nadu Transport Minister S.S. Sivasankar ordered strict action against both the driver and the conductor involved.
He emphasized that incidents like these must not be repeated and assured the public that corrective measures would be implemented to ensure students are not put at risk due to public transport failures.
