A heartbreaking post by Kazi Minha Islam on Facebook has been circulating, revealing a tragic and horrifying experience aboard a Purbasha Bus traveling from Dhaka to Jhinaidah Kaliganj.

What was supposed to be a simple, air-conditioned bus ride turned into a nightmare of heat, suffering, and ultimately, loss.

The passengers had paid a hefty sum—Tk 1400 per seat—for what was supposed to be a comfortable, air-conditioned journey. But the AC didn’t work. Not once. The bus quickly became unbearably hot, and when passengers complained, the staff refused to take responsibility or offer any solution. There was no apology, just silence. They were stuck in a metal oven with no relief in sight.

Things only went downhill from there. While crossing the Padma River, the bus broke down, leaving everyone stranded in the harsh sun for over two hours. The staff offered no explanation or help.

Once the engine was finally fixed, the heat inside was even worse, making the entire situation far more uncomfortable than before.

But the worst part was yet to come.

An elderly man, probably in his 60s, started showing signs of severe heatstroke. He was conscious, begging for help, asking the supervisor to turn on the AC. But as expected, it didn’t work.

People, including Kazi Minha and hes mother, were so desperate they tried opening the roof panels with their bare hands, just to get some air flowing. They did everything they could, but there was no way to help this man. They watched helplessly as he deteriorated before their eyes—and tragically, he passed away right there on the bus.

This wasn’t just a “bad experience” or an inconvenience; it was a life lost because of Purbasha Bus Service’s complete neglect. The company took Tk 1400 from each passenger, promising them a safe and comfortable journey, but instead, they offered nothing but poor service, negligence, and total disregard for human life.

In her post, Kazi Minha Islam shared how he and her mother were also affected by the heat. “People were desperate to reach their destination, children got sick, and the staff did nothing to help,” she wrote. “The tragedy of what happened should not be brushed aside.”

This entire incident is a stark example of Purbasha Bus Service’s complete neglect of its passengers’ well-being. By putting profit before safety, they ended up causing a tragedy; a man lost his life because of their incompetence.

“We demand accountability. We demand justice. This should not be swept under the rug. A man died on that bus, and every passenger bore witness to it. Purbasha Bus Service must be held responsible,” wrote Kazi Minha Islam.
