NueGo, the intercity electric bus arm of GreenCell Mobility, has successfully completed its first wave of the NueGo driver training program, equipping over 3,000 coach captains (drivers) and 400 coach hosts (onboard staff) for electric bus operations. 

The electric vehicle training program underlines a wider shift: scaling up electric mobility requires not just vehicles, but skilled human capital at the helm.

NueGo’s onboarding journey combines theory and real-world experience over a structured one-week curriculum, delivered across depots in Delhi, Indore, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai.

Curriculum highlights – 11 modules

• 8 modules on Defensive Driving Techniques (DDT) covering safety, manoeuvring, and blind-spot awareness
• 3 modules on customer experience & EV familiarisation, teaching regenerative braking, battery efficiency, high-voltage safety, and charging protocols

These modules include classroom instruction, simulator practice, and real-route driving to ensure hands-on confidence.

Continuous upskilling ensures operational excellence

Training doesn’t end at onboarding. Every coach captain and host undergoes mandatory refresher training every three months, including assessments for:

• Blind spot awareness
• L-shape reversing
• Parallel parking

The modules also reinforce defensive driving, regenerative braking, and passenger engagement.
