KSRTC Introduces Special Weekend Package Tours from Bengaluru to Gaganachukki, Chikka Tirupati and Melkote

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched special weekend package bus tours from Bengaluru to popular tourist and pilgrimage destinations, including Gaganachukki, Chikka Tirupati and Melkote.
The initiative aims to provide affordable, organised travel options for families, pilgrims and weekend explorers.
According to officials, the services operate on Saturdays, Sundays and select public holidays using Rajahamsa and Ashwamedha Classic buses.
The response from passengers has reportedly been encouraging since the introduction of the packages.

Bengaluru–Gaganachukki Nature and Heritage Circuit
One of the most sought-after packages covers a 340-km round trip from Bengaluru to Gaganachukki via Somanathapura, Talakad, Madhyaranga and Barachukki.
The tour explores the scenic stretches of the Shivanasamudra Falls, including both Barachukki and Gaganachukki waterfalls.
The package is available on:
- Rajahamsa buses: ₹750 per adult and ₹600 per child
- Ashwamedha Classic buses: ₹600 per adult and ₹450 per child
The route also includes a stop at the famous Chennakesava Temple in Somanathapura, known for its Hoysala architecture, and the historic town of Talakad on the banks of the Cauvery River.

Bengaluru–Chikka Tirupati Pilgrimage Circuit
For spiritual travellers, KSRTC is operating a 270-km pilgrimage circuit covering Chikka Tirupati, Kotilingeshwara, Bangaru Tirupati, Avani, Mulbagal, Kurudumale and Kolar.
Operated on Ashwamedha Classic buses, the fare is ₹600 per adult and ₹450 per child.
Key highlights include the towering Shiva Linga at Kotilingeshwara, the giant Ganesha idol at Kurudumale, and the hilltop temple at Avani, associated with mythological significance.
Bengaluru–Melkote Cultural Tour
The Bengaluru–Melkote package spans approximately 350 km via Srirangapatna and Kallahalli. Operated on Ashwamedha Classic buses, the fare is ₹670 per adult and ₹500 per child.
The tour offers visits to heritage temples in Srirangapatna and culminates at Melkote, a prominent spiritual and cultural centre known for the Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple and scenic temple tanks.

Booking and Important Information
Buses typically depart around 6:30 AM from major boarding points such as the Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic) and return by approximately 9:00 PM.
Tickets can be booked online through KSRTC’s official website or authorised booking counters.
The package fare covers only transportation. Entrance fees, meals and other personal expenses are not included.
Passengers are advised to carry valid ID proof and arrive at the boarding point at least 15 minutes before departure.
With these curated weekend circuits, KSRTC is positioning itself as a convenient and budget-friendly option for short-distance tourism across Karnataka.
