Karsan to Deliver 22 e-ATA Electric Buses to Romania

Karsan has secured an order to deliver 22 e-ATA 12-meter electric buses to Constanța, Romania. This order will increase the total number of Karsan electric buses in Romania to 525 units by the end of 2025. The contract builds on previous orders in cities such as Craiova, Buzău, Sibiu, Șimleu Silvaniei, and Alba Iulia.

Karsan’s strong partnership with its Romanian distributor, Anadolu Automobile Rom (AAR), has played a key role in this expansion.

Karsan CEO Okan Baş highlighted Romania’s importance, noting that the country represents a key milestone in the company’s growth in electric public transportation, and is also the first destination for Karsan’s e-JEST electric vehicle exports.

Karsan e-ATA: A Sustainable Solution for Public Transport

The Karsan e-ATA series is designed with sustainability and efficiency in mind. The e-ATA 12-meter electric buses set to be delivered to Constanța are equipped with a modular battery system, providing flexible capacity options ranging from 150 kWh to 600 kWh.

This allows the buses to achieve an impressive maximum range of up to 450 kilometers on a single charge, making them ideal for long-distance public transportation routes.

Furthermore, the e-ATA buses can be charged within one to four hours using fast-charging technology, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operation for city transit authorities.

The adoption of such advanced electric buses is a significant step toward reducing carbon emissions and promoting cleaner, greener public transport solutions in Romania.

Karsan continues to play a significant role in Romania’s transition to cleaner, more sustainable public transport solutions.
