Triprangode’s Free Bus Service: How It All Began
The village’s free bus service was a dream come true for the community, thanks to a collaborative effort between local panchayat officials and the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
The panchayat allocated Rs 10 lakh for the project in the last budget, which was enough to get the ball rolling. The officials approached KSRTC for a bus under the Grama Vandi project, and with approval in hand, the service was ready to take off after several rounds of test runs.
Service Overview:
- Route Coverage: The bus will service various routes across Triprangode, including major stops such as Chamravattam, Perunthalloor, Alingal, and Poozhikunnu.
- Start Time: 7 am from Athanipadi.
- End Time: The bus operates till 7 pm, covering every corner of the village with uninterrupted service.
A Step Towards Sustainable Rural Development
The introduction of Triprangode’s free bus service is an important move towards sustainable rural development. By providing free rides for women and children, the service gives them the freedom to access education, healthcare, and work opportunities with ease.
The service is also designed to be inclusive. While it primarily caters to women and children, men can also use the service by purchasing tickets.
With plans to expand the service to even more areas in the future, the panchayat is ensuring that transportation remains accessible to all residents of Triprangode.
