Luxembourg-based bus operator DEMY SCHANDELER, a key player in electric mobility, is set to make history with its groundbreaking decision to order 15 Volvo Electric Buses for intercity transportation.

Volvo 7900 Electric Bus Bodies are Built by MCV

Volvo, on September 2023, announced their collaboration with MCV to produce the Volvo 7900 Electric and Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated buses under license.

Founded in 1994, MCV (Manufacturing Commercial Vehicles) stands as the largest bus manufacturer in the Middle East and Africa.

Operating from its global headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the company has become a key player in the commercial vehicle market, supplying buses worldwide to regions such as Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa.

With an impressive production capacity of 6,000 buses annually, it continues to contribute significantly to the global transportation sector.

Having already operated 10 Volvo 7900 buses since the beginning of 2023, DEMY SCHANDELER’s decision to expand its fleet is a testament to the success of this collaboration.

Delivery is Scheduled for 2025

Scheduled for delivery in spring 2025, the forthcoming fleet of 15 buses represents an enhanced iteration of the existing Volvo 7900 Bus model.

These 12-meter-long buses will be equipped with a 470kWh battery configuration, ensuring a combination of flexibility and operational efficiency.
