In a tragic incident in Rajasthan’s Dausa district, a bus carrying over 70 passengers lost control and plunged from an overbridge onto railway tracks.

This devastating event, which took place at 2:15 AM, resulted in at least four people losing their lives, with several others sustaining injuries.

A senior official reported, “Following the accident, 28 individuals were swiftly taken to the hospital. Regrettably, four lives were lost. Medical staff is currently providing care to the injured. An SDM has been dispatched to investigate the incident.”

The ill-fated bus was on its way from Haridwar to Udaipur when the unfortunate event occurred.

Dausa District Magistrate Qummer Choudhary noted that approximately four to five people are in critical condition.

As of now, 28 individuals have been admitted to the district hospital, receiving the necessary medical attention.

Cause of the Accident

According to initial reports, the ill-fated bus was en route to Udaipur. At approximately 2 AM, while traversing a pool near the Dausa Collectorate Circle, the driver lost control, resulting in the bus plummeting nearly 30 feet below a culvert near the Dausa Collectorate intersection.

Additionally, as reported by ANI, the bus was operating beyond its capacity, accommodating approximately 70 passengers.

Casualties

Nine passengers in critical condition were urgently referred to Jaipur for advanced medical care. Unfortunately, the incident claimed the lives of four passengers, comprising two women and two men.

The remains of the deceased have been respectfully placed in the mortuary of Dausa District Hospital, as confirmed by the police.

Dausa Bus Accident Affects Railway Operations

The bus accident in Dausa had a significant impact on railway operations, as the bus fell onto the railway tracks. This resulted in a temporary halt in train services for several hours.

District Collector Qamar Chaudhary updated, stating, “The train traveling from Jaipur to Delhi was temporarily halted. The bus has been successfully removed from the tracks with the assistance of a crane, and the railway track has been restored to its normal state.”

Authorities have taken necessary steps, including registering a case, and further investigations into the incident are currently in progress.
