BharatBenz Heavy-Duty Rigid Truck Range Launched with 10L Km AMC

Commercial vehicle major Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has launched an all-new range of BharatBenz heavy-duty rigid trucks that promise improved fuel efficiency and lower cost of ownership. Powered by an all-new BharatBenz BSVI-Stage2 6.7-litre engine, the new range is offered in two configurations – 250HP and 950Nm and 306HP and 1200Nm.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG (“Daimler Truck”) has announced the launch of an all-new range of BharatBenz heavy-duty rigid trucks on August 22, 2024.

The new range is powered by the BharatBenz BSVI-Stage2 6.7-litre diesel engine, a new engine setup that the company promises is engineered for superior performance and reliability.

Bosting higher horsepower and torque than the existing engine, the BharatBenz BSVI-Stage2 6.7-litre diesel engine is offered in two configurations – 250HP & 950Nm and 306HP & 1200Nm. Customers can select the configuration that best suits their specific application needs.

The new range of BharatBenz heavy-duty rigid trucks will also offer new payload applications such as bitumen, bulker, Petroleum, Oil & Lubricants (POL) in addition to various existing payload applications. 

Talking about the advantages of the new range, Sreeram Venkateswaran, President & Chief Business Officer of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles said, ‘Powered by the all-new 6D26 engine, our new range of BharatBenz heavy-duty rigid trucks guarantees superior fuel efficiency and operational flexibility, which directly contribute to a lower total cost of ownership.”

To ensure operational reliability, these trucks are backed by an appealing 10 lakh km Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC).

BharatBenz Heavy-Duty Rigid Truck Models

The new range of BharatBenz heavy-duty rigid trucks is available in 5 modes. They are as follows:

  • BharatBenz 2826R (6×2)
  • BharatBenz 3526R (8×2)
  • BharatBenz 3832R (8×2)
  • BharatBenz 4232R (10×2)
  • BharatBenz 4832R (10×2)

The entire range is designed on a joggle frame chassis, built with riveted joints, providing a robust foundation for a diverse array of applications.

The aerodynamically crafted AC cabins enhance vehicle momentum, while the plush sleeper berths ensure comfort during long-distance travels.

The new BharatBenz BSVI-Stage2 6.7-litre diesel engine has been engine has been engineered for increased operational efficiency and reliability.

These engines are crafted to efficiently handle substantial payloads, ensuring smooth gear transitions and powerful torque delivery at lower speeds.

The new BharatBenz 6D26 engine not only delivers exceptional acceleration but also provides leading performance in both peak and sustained torque.

This design enhances overall operational efficiency, improves driver comfort, and minimizes fatigue on extended journeys.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has made substantial improvements in fuel efficiency with its latest BharatBenz Rigid heavy-duty trucks by incorporating the innovative EFFI+ package and multi-drive mode functionality. Here’s how these advancements enhance fuel economy:

  1. EFFI+ Package Features:
    • Minimal Parked Regeneration: Reduces unnecessary fuel consumption during idle periods.
    • Auto Green Band: Automatically adjusts engine speed to stay within the optimal RPM range for better fuel efficiency.
    • Auto Idling Shutdown: Automatically turns off the engine during extended idling to save fuel.
    • Harsh Acceleration Control: Limits acceleration to prevent excessive fuel use.
  2. Multi-Drive Mode:
    • Provides drivers with multiple operating modes tailored to various load conditions, improving efficiency during both partial and no-load operations.
  3. Additional Technologies:
    • Advanced Common Rail Injection System: Enhances fuel atomization and combustion efficiency.
    • Load-Based Speed Control (LBSC): Adjusts engine performance based on the load, further optimizing fuel usage.
