Chennai, 13th October 2023: Ashok Leyland, India’s foremost commercial vehicle manufacturer and the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, proudly announces the acquisition of a monumental order for 1,666 buses from TN STU’s (Tamil Nadu State Transport Undertakings).
This order stands as the largest-ever BSVI procurement from State Transport Undertakings, further cementing Ashok Leyland bus’ dominant position in the bus industry.
Specification of the Ashok Leyland Buses That Will be Delivered to TN STUs
These Ashok Leyland buses will showcase Ashok Leyland’s in-house developed iGen6 BS VI OBD II technology.
The buses will have a robust 147 kW (197 hp) H-series engine, providing superior passenger comfort and safety. This move is expected to reduce the overall cost of ownership as well.
These BS VI Ashok Leyland buses will deliver in a phased manner.
