On the latest development front, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) introduced a cutting-edge mobile app for Mo Bus alongside a novel scheme for Mo Bus cards.
The introduction of the new Mo Bus card and mobile app aims to enhance digital payment options and ensure seamless travel for commuters in Odisha.
Commuters can tap their Mo Bus card on the ticketing machine with the guide (conductor) to receive their ticket instantly.
This convenient payment method eliminates the hassle of dealing with change and outstanding dues.

Features of the CRUT Mo Bus App
On the other hand, the new CRUT Mo Bus mobile app provides commuters with various trip options, helping them find the most cost-effective and efficient routes to their destination.
Available for both Android and iOS platforms, the CRUT Mo Bus app boasts a range of commuter-centric features including the following:
- Live bus tracking
- Estimated time of arrival
- Real-time bus occupancy updates
- Online ticketing and pass purchase options
- Ability to locate nearby buses.
The app features a user-friendly interface that aims to significantly streamline the commuting experience and enhance passenger convenience.
Where to get the Mo Bus Card?
To ensure that passengers can easily obtain the Mo Bus card, CRUT has implemented various options for acquiring it.
Commuters can purchase the card directly from the conductors on the buses or from a slew of designated locations such as the Master Canteen bus terminal and CRUT office in Patia, Bhubaneswar.
In Rourkela, the cards are available at the Mo Bus counter in the Rourkela bus stand, while in Cuttack, they can be obtained at CNBT.
Additionally, CRUT will set up kiosks across the Capital Region and Rourkela for the convenience of commuters.

Benefits of the Mo Bus Card

Additionally, the Mo Bus card eliminates the need for exact change, providing a convenient payment solution for riders.
In a bid to enhance commuter benefits, CRUT has introduced an exclusive introductory offer.
Anu Garg, Development Commissioner-cum-ACS & Chairman CRUT, announced that passengers will receive an additional 40% on top-up of Rs. 500 and 50% on top-up of Rs. 1000, with the card cost of Rs. 50 excluded.
This limited-time promotion, valid from March 1, 2024, extends across the Capital Region and Rourkela, providing commuters with added value for their travel needs.
The offer is valid for a month and ends on April 1, 2024.

Inaugurating the app, Smt. Anu Garg, Development Commissioner-cum-ACS & Chairman CRUT, emphasized the significance of the new and improved app, and said,
‘The new improved app will ensure ease of travel and empower the commuters to know the live arrival time of their bus and see real-time bus occupancy. This will help the citizens plan their travel accordingly.'”
Expressing gratitude to the commuters for their ongoing support of the Mo Bus service, Shri Arun Bothra, Managing Director of CRUT, highlighted the initiative’s focus on enhancing contactless payment and ensuring a seamless, enjoyable journey for passengers.
He emphasized, ‘The move is aimed at improving contactless payment and also to make the Mo Bus journey more enjoyable, hassle-free and at par with the best bus services in the world.’
