Solaris has secured its first major contract in Canada, marking a significant step in its expansion into the North American market.

The agreement with TransLink in Vancouver involves the delivery of 107 12-meter trolleybuses, the Solaris Trollino 12, with options for an additional 201 units of the same size and 204 articulated 18-meter models.

The first deliveries are set for 2026, with further shipments expected through 2027.

This deal is part of Solaris’ broader strategy, which was outlined in its 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, focusing on zero-emission buses (ZEBs) and increasing the company’s presence in North America.

Solaris had been testing the Solaris Trollino 12 trolleybus in regular city traffic in Vancouver, Canada, since September 2023.

Solaris has already built a strong global presence, delivering over 5,500 zero-emission vehicles, including battery-electric buses, hydrogen-powered buses, and trolleybuses across more than 30 countries.

Known as the leader in the European trolleybus market, Solaris currently holds more than 60% of the market share and has delivered nearly 2,500 trolleybuses to date.

The agreement with TransLink not only strengthens Solaris’ position as a leader in zero-emission transportation but also sets the stage for further growth in the North American market.
