JBM Auto Secures Order for 1021 Electric Buses Under PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme
JBM Auto has secured a significant contract for 1,021 electric buses as part of the Government of India’s PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme-2 initiative.
The order, valued at around Rs 5,500 crore, will see these electric buses deployed in 19 cities across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Haryana.
Earlier in January, JBM showcased four electric buses at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, marking its entry into the European market. The company is also gearing up for a new electric city bus slated for launch in March-April 2025 in Germany.
Additionally, JBM will unveil an updated electric coach at Busworld 2025.
This new deal adds to JBM’s impressive portfolio of 1,000 electric buses in India, supported by a Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) to ensure timely payments and financial stability for bus operators.

The company anticipates that over the next 3-4 years, its buses will serve more than 20 billion passengers and cover 3 billion e-kilometers.
JBM Auto has already deployed approximately 2,000 electric buses in markets including India, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
With this new order, the company’s backlog now exceeds 11,000 electric buses at various stages of production.
In addition to its impressive order book, JBM claims to have established the world’s largest integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, located in the Delhi-NCR region. This facility is capable of producing up to 20,000 electric buses annually.
