EKA Mobility Deploys 9-Metre Electric Buses for CRUT in Odisha
Under the project, a total of 100 EKA electric buses are planned to be deployed across the capital region to strengthen CRUT’s public transport network.

EKA Mobility has deployed EKA 9-metre electric buses for Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) in Odisha. The deployment was carried out in collaboration with Travel Time Mobility Pvt. Ltd. and was flagged off virtually by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The buses have been deployed for operations under CRUT, the public transport authority serving the capital region. EKA Mobility has Mitsui & Co., Ltd. of Japan and VDL Groep of the Netherlands as equity partners.
Confirming the deployment, Rohit Srivastava, Business Head and Chief Growth Officer, EKA Mobility, said, “The deployment of our EKA 9M electric buses for Capital Region Urban Transport is a significant step toward building cleaner, smarter, and more efficient urban mobility solutions. Through our partnership with Travel Time, we aim to enhance passenger experience and reduce carbon emissions.”

Under the project, a total of 100 EKA electric buses are planned to be deployed across the capital region to strengthen CRUT’s public transport network.
The EKA 9M is a 9-metre electric bus with a seating capacity of 35 passengers, including wheelchair access. It is powered by a 213 kW motor and a 200 kWh LFP battery and is designed for urban public transport operations in the state.
