BMTC has announced that the Ghati-Isha Foundation package, its special weekend temple tour, is now being expanded to include new AC buses and two new routes.

Since its launch last year, over 50,000 passengers have already taken this journey so far, which is a sign of the package’s rising popularity. 

This announcement comes in addition to the BMTC adding five new routes to its express bus services, under which a total of 48 buses will run everyday on a 20-30 minute interval.

BMTC Ghati-Isha Foundation Package Details

The expanded BMTC Weekend Temple Tour package will now include air-conditioned buses and will be available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

The tour will start from Kempegowda Bus Stand at 9 AM and will end at 7 PM. Lunch will be provided during the tour. The weekend temple tour will cover the following spiritual sites around Bengaluru:

  • Nelamangala Anjaneya Swamy Temple – A historic Hanuman temple known for its peaceful surroundings and devotional energy
  • Sri Ghati Subramanya Swamy Temple – One of the most important temples dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya, often visited by devotees seeking relief from sarpa dosha
  • Jnana Tirtha Linga (Muddenahalli) – A lesser-known but deeply serene Shiva temple located close to the birthplace of visionary Sir M. Visvesvaraya
  • Sri Dakshina Kashi Panchanandi Kshetra, Papagni Math (Skandagiri) – Known as the ‘Kashi of the South,’ this sacred matha near Skandagiri hill is rich in heritage and ancient wisdom
  • Kalyani (Karanji) – A temple tank believed to have healing powers, offering a moment of quiet introspection
  • Isha Foundation – The final stop. This spiritual centre founded by Sadhguru offers a tranquil setting, the majestic Adiyogi statue, and guided meditations that leave a lasting impression

How to Book BMTC Weekend Temple Tour Bus Service

The BMTC weekend temple tour bus services can be booked online. We also contacted the KSRTC customer service and were informed that the package can also be booked by visiting the nearest KSRTC bus depot’s dedicated counter. 

Online Booking Steps:

  • Visit the KSRTC website
  • Select ‘Kempegowda Bus Station’ as the starting point
  • Under the ‘Going To’ box, select ‘BMTC Isha Package Tour’
  • Set your preferred journey date
  • Choose from the list of available trips and click ‘Select seats.’
  • Provide passenger details and select up to six seats per booking
  • Proceed to payment to book the BMTC weekend temple tour bus

BMTC Weekend Temple Tour Fare Details

The BMTC Ghati-Isha Foundation package’s fare is ₹622, including toll charges.

Also, BMTC has announced its plans to introduce two additional routes to the tour:

  • From Banashankari TTMC at ₹700
  • From Silk Board Junction at ₹750

These routes will cater to people living in the southern region of Bangalore, making the tour more accessible for passengers without having to travel far to board the buses.
