Volvo Buses has unveiled the all-new Volvo BZR electric coach chassis, a game-changing platform designed for sustainable long-distance mobility.

With an industry-leading battery capacity of up to 720 kWh and a range of up to 700 km (SORT 3 test cycle), the new chassis makes interregional and tour routes viable for electric coaches – routes previously out of reach.

The new chassis is an upgraded iteration of Volvo’s global BZR Electric platform, which debuted in March 2024 with the launch of the Volvo 8900 electric intercity bus with 540 kW battery capacity.

The new chassis is available in two or three-axle configurations, offering four to eight modular energy storage units. Operators can tailor the setup to maximize range or efficiency, ensuring flexibility across urban, intercity, and charter operations.

Equipped with CCS (250 kW) and OppCharge (450 kW) fast-charging, it ensures reduced downtime and operational efficiency. Active safety systems, including the latest pedestrian and passenger protection features, come as standard.
