UPSRTC Announces Electric Bus Tender for 5000 Buses
UPSRTC initiates electric bus tender for 5000 buses in the first phase. Aims for 50,000 buses by 2030.
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation is currently inviting tenders for the supply, operation, and maintenance of 5000 electric buses.
This electric bus tender marks the first phase of the corporation’s plan to revolutionize public transportation within the state.
Additionally, associated Electrical and Civil Infrastructure are also included in this tender, all under a Revenue Sharing Franchise Model.
Moreover, the corporation aims to acquire around 50,000 buses over the next 5-6 years as part of its long-term strategy for enhancing the state’s transportation network.
The tender process, involving two bid systems comprising Technical and Financial bids, invites proposals from reputable and experienced professional organizations.

The bidding process allows flexibility for bidders to select any of the present routes of UPSRTC and bid for electric buses of any size, whether AC or non-AC, based on the requirements of the route.
As a prerequisite for submitting their bids, the Bidder(s) are required to provide an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 30,000/- (Thirty thousand only) per Bus.
Furthermore, Bidder(s) must ensure that the EMD is paid at least two working days in advance of the final bid submission deadline.
The contract period encompasses stages from prototype inspection post-signing to twelve years of operation, support, and maintenance for each batch of buses, with phased removal upon completion.
